An amazing conference in Melbourne! Business Managers Victoria - Pullman Hotel Albert Park

I was asked to be the master of ceremonies for the 3 day Business Managers Victoria conference at Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. Little was I to know what a joy this would be. I've discovered that Business Managers in schools are superheroes. Why? Where do I start?

They need an extraordinarily wide range of skills. They deal with students, parents, teachers, principals as well as the education department, contractors and

suppliers. Each is a distinct group requiring a different approach. On top of that they are responsible for signing complicated contracts, choosing insurance, planning budgets, protecting assets and the list goes on and on.

So our 3 days were packed! The planning required a balance of networking, education and good 'ol fun. My role was to MC the event supporting the fabulous team from The Conference Manager led by Jacqui Bates (she's a gun!). Over 330 Business Managers attended from Victoria including delegates from South Australia and representatives of the ACT chapter.

I was honoured to host and help coordinate the welcome cocktail event for first timers, plenary sessions, masterclasses and the gala night. My brain is full of incredible new knowledge and ideas to try thanks to brilliant keynotes from Adam Spencer, Dr Amy Silver and Toni Powell,.

I'm still buzzing!

Thank you to the Business Managers Victoria committee, led by their inspirational and incomparable president Tracey Smith.

Thank you to all the fascinating and entertaining delegates and sponsors who kept me inspired to do my job across the conference.

I've run out of energisers and jokes for now... See you next time! :) C
