I've always loved teaching. Many moons ago I taught at both Melbourne University and Monash University, and I've never lost the passion for helping people learn and grow. Over the years I've delivered training in many different forms, from live workshops and presentations through to training videos viewed by staff across Australia.

One of my more recent projects involved training hundreds of team members for a national company's rollout of SantaLand in Myer stores around the country. What I enjoy most about training is taking information that may be new, unfamiliar or even a little intimidating and making it easy to understand. As an MC, facilitator and entertainer, I'm used to absorbing new concepts quickly and communicating them clearly to a wide range of audiences. Add a little humour, some audience interaction and a few real-world examples, and suddenly learning becomes far more enjoyable. My philosophy is simple: people learn more when they're engaged, and engaged people are much more likely to remember what they've learned.

Entertain While You Teach

One of my longest-standing clients is Coles, and it has been a pleasure to work with their team in a variety of roles over the past 20 years. One of my favourite engagements is assisting department leaders during Coles' national Christmas launch, where more than 1,000 managers gather to explore the latest products, initiatives and ideas from across the business. From Dairy and Bakery to Meat and Grocery, each department has an important story to tell and a limited amount of time to make an impact.

This is where I love to help. My role is to work alongside presenters and subject matter experts, adding humour, energy and audience engagement to ensure their key messages are remembered. Let's face it: people learn more when they're enjoying themselves. By blending entertainment with education, I help transform information into an experience. The pressure is always on because every department wants their showcase to be the one people are still talking about over dinner that night!
