Conference MC

A great conference should be informative, but it should also be enjoyable. While the business objectives are important, I've found that delegates are far more engaged when they are entertained along the way. A little humour, a few surprises and some genuine human moments can transform a long conference day into an experience people actually enjoy being part of.

Making Conferences More Fun Than They Have Any Right To Be

Over the years I've discovered that while clients often hire me to keep a conference running smoothly, they frequently invite me back because of the energy and entertainment I bring to the room. My role is to connect the dots between speakers, sessions and delegates while keeping the atmosphere relaxed, engaging and unpredictable. Drawing on my background in stand-up comedy, improvisation and live performance, I weave interesting stories, spontaneous interactions and moments of humour throughout the day.

One thing delegates quickly learn is that they're part of the experience too. I love creating opportunities for audience participation and interaction, which means every conference develops its own personality and memorable moments. It keeps delegates curious about what's coming next and helps maintain energy levels between presentations.

Guest speakers and keynote presenters often tell me they love arriving at a conference knowing I'll be the MC because they can feel the audience is engaged, energised and ready to participate. Conference organisers appreciate that I understand the balance between professionalism and entertainment. I respect the audience, the speakers and the objectives of the event while creating a warm, conversational atmosphere that keeps people attentive, involved and looking forward to the next session.
